Firewalking

What does it mean to walk through fire? Firewalking, in its simplest form refers to someone walking across a fire with bare feet. However, it is so much more than that. It is a metaphor for conquering fear, conquering oneself and breaking through. Fire is a power of nature. Across many cultures fire has always carried significance, and firewalking is a practice that has been taking place for thousands of years. Meet Ceri and Beatrix, firewalking instructors at Shambala Retreat in Rustenburg, Northwest, South Africa. They take us on a journey right from the beginning, from starting the fire and the intentions that are set for the entire process, to mentally and physically preparing for walking across fire.
