Explore the confluence of value systems in our age — the traditional, modern, and postmodern — with Huston Smith, a world renowned speaker and author of The World’s Religions.
At one time, everyone lived under the umbrella of a traditional worldview. With the rise of modern science in the 16th and 17th centuries, a new era began, the era of modernity. Modernity lasted through the mid-20th century when it phased into what we now call the postmodern world. Each of these periods recognizes a unique and integrally important gift in human development.
From learning to draw our livelihood from the earth, to deepening our human relations and social patterns, to exploring our relationship to the Cosmos, each era had its own special genius — but it is only by integrating all three aspects that mankind will realize its potential.
