Conscious States of Dying
We sit with Stanislav Grof, author of numerous books on altered states of consciousness. He shares his experience and discoveries about the various states of consciousness. Some of these are ordinary states, such as the ones experienced during everyday life. Others states of consciousness can be induced through mediation, shamanic trances, and the use of psychedelic substances. More poignantly, he expands the states of consciousness one might experience upon the moment of death.
All of these various states have been detailed in the mythologies of the world from ancient Egypt to modern Tibet. Grof expands upon the perspective each of these cultures take when explaining different mental states leading up to death, including the moment of reincarnation.
