The Way of the Psychonaut
The Way of the Psychonaut explores the life and work of Stanislav Grof, a psychedelic psychotherapy pioneer and founder of Transpersonal Psychology. Stan’s work on the healing power of non-ordinary states of consciousness has influenced psychology and profoundly changed many lives.
One of those transformed by Stan is filmmaker Susan Hess Logeais. The documentary utilizes Susan’s personal existential crisis as a gateway to Grof’s controversial mind-expanding psychedelic therapies, which includes using LSD, psilocybin and other psychedelic substances.
The film also follows Grof as he continues his research into non-ordinary states of consciousness without psychedelics, using Holotropic Breathwork, which he developed in the 1970s.
The Way of the Psychonaut is a must-see for anyone interested in the history of psychedelic research and Stan Grof’s groundbreaking work in mental health.
