Raw Chocolate Slice

Ingredients

(use organic where possible)

FOR THE BASE

  • 2 cups cashews
  • ½ cup dried dates, firmly packed
  • 1 cup desiccated coconut
  • ½ cup raw cacao powder
  • ¼ cup honey
  • Pinch of salt

FOR THE CHOCOLATE TOPPING

  • 100g cacao butter, melted
  • ½ cup cacao powder
  • ¼ cup maple syrup
  • Pinch of salt

Directions

  1. To prepare the base, line a standard square (20 x 20 cm) tin with baking paper and set aside.
  2. Add all the base ingredients to a food processor.
  3. Process until well combined and sticky.
  4. Transfer to the prepared tin and press to distribute the mixture evenly.
  5. Set aside in the fridge.
  6. To prepare the topping, add all ingredients into a bowl and mix well.
  7. Pour over your slice base and set in the freezer or fridge.
