Training the Brain
Learn to craft a new narrative for self-directed neuroplasticity, which will help form new neural networks and bring you into a parasympathetic state.
Lisa Wimberger is the founder of the Neurosculpting® Institute and co-founder of the NeuroPraxis App. She holds a master’s degree in Education and certifications in NeuroLeadership, Medical Neuroscience, Visual Perception, and Neurobiology. She is also the author of seven books on neuroplasticity and stress management, including New Beliefs, New Brain and Neurosculpting.
She explains that by entering a meditative state and offering our body a sense of safety and predictability, we can access the brain for self-directed neuroplasticity. By rehearsing a specific script, we can train our body to respond in ways that promote health and well-being.
This practice is effective for addressing trauma and stress, and it also offers additional benefits such as:
✓ Gain awareness of aspects of yourself that you may not have previously recognized, leading to deeper self-understanding and insight ✓ Develop the ability to rewire your brain and shift undesired responses, allowing you to manage and transform limiting patterns and behaviors ✓ Enhance your ability to recognize when your safety needs are not being met, empowering you to take proactive steps to address and fulfill those needs ✓ Engage with new and stimulating experiences that promote growth and learning, fostering creativity and expanding your perspective ✓ Approach the practice with a sense of playfulness, treating it like a rehearsal where you actively engage in creating and embodying new, positive scripts for your life
Home play: In a stressful situation, take a few moments to engage in this practice. Address your safety and predictability needs, calm your system, and run through a script of how you want to feel. Use this process to train your body and transform your life.
